Blue Horizons Coastal Adventures CIC is seeking a Community & Operations Coordinator to support the delivery of our inclusive surf and coastal activity programmes.
We are a not-for-profit organisation committed to making the sea accessible to all. Through adapted surfing and boat trips, we support individuals with disabilities, neurodivergence, and additional needs to enjoy the wellbeing benefits of time on the water.
About the Role:
This is a varied and rewarding position where you’ll:
✔ Coordinate session logistics and bookings
✔ Provide direct support to families and participants
✔ Manage communications and administration
✔ Serve as the main point of contact for enquiries
We’re looking for someone who is:
🌊 Passionate about inclusion and community
🌊 Highly organised and confident with IT systems
🌊 A clear communicator who enjoys working with people
This role is ideal for someone who wants their work to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

🌊We’re excited to be part of the return of the legendary Manorbier Shootout surf competition, originally run by the @manorbiercastleinn . With the help of a fantastic local committee and the ongoing support of the Castle Inn, this much-loved event is making its comeback—and we can’t wait to see you there.
🎯 This year’s format is a Tag Team Shootout — teams of 6–8 surfers from all categories working together to score the highest combined points. It’s all about teamwork, good energy, and cheering each other on in the waves. Whether you’re a seasoned surfer or just in it for the fun, there’s a spot for you!

🌊 Our Adult Adaptive Surf Club is BACK for Year 3! 🌊
We’re excited to welcome everyone back to our Wednesday Adaptive Surf Sessions—running for the third amazing year! Whether you’re returning or a new surfer, these sessions are all about building confidence, catching waves and having a fun alongside fellow surfers.
👥 Group size is kept to a max of 6 to ensure everyone gets the support they need. You’ll have the chance to connect with others, surf independently, or just soak up the joy of riding the waves next to friends, all with the guidance of our adaptive-qualified instructors. Expect new skills, lots of laughs, and a serious boost to your week! 🌞
🌊 Looking for something a little quieter?
This year we’re also running Friday one-on-one sessions for those who’d like a bit more space and personal focus. These peaceful sessions will be run by the Adaptive surf coaches Ollie and Emma-Mary, giving you time to set your own pace and really tune into the sea.

If you asked any of our surf club kids how good surf club is, they’d all say the same thing:
“Don’t come… it’s terrible!”
Why? Because we’ve taught them well. Surf etiquette rule #1:

For most of the kids on Tuesday it`s their third year with us and that`s a testimonial in its self!

Tuesday`s accessible boat trips were an absolute joy! The sun came out, the smiles were endless, and we set out on the open sea for a day filled with laughter, fresh air, and unforgettable moments. 🌞💙
From seeing the Estuary sights around us to feeling the sea breeze in our hair, the freedom and calm of the water worked its magic once again.

❤ Heart Warming & Positive News Alert! ❤
Last year, we had the pleasure of meeting an incredible woman named Lizzie over coffee at Bubbleton Farm. Little did we know that meeting would lead to something truly special! Lizzie offered a generous donation to help our surfers and Blue Horizons, and thanks to her kindness, we’ve been able to make a huge impact.
🌊 Keeping Our Surfers Warm & Comfortable
We now have two heated rash vests, helping less mobile surfers stay warm and extend their time in the water.
🌊10 adapted wetsuits from Melloweseas, a French company that makes stretchy neoprene wetsuits with custom adaptations! These suits feature front and back zips (like putting on a pair of trousers), as well as zips in the arms and legs for easier access. As modelled by Mrs K in the picture.
🌊Lizzie also found an amazing opportunity through the Finisterre Foundation, allowing us to apply for top-quality, ultra-warm, and accessible wetsuits—ensuring our surfers can stay in the water for longer!
🌊 A New Surfboard for Greater Independence!
This year, we also have a brand-new 10-foot foam surfboard! This will be a game-changer for surfers with less balance and coordination, offering more buoyancy and a better chance to experience the thrill of independent surfing.
🌟 The Impact?More waves, more smiles! 🌟
Because of Lizzie’s generosity and help, a great many have/will have the chance to achieve what once seemed impossible. In every walk of life, there are hidden heroes—people working behind the scenes to make a difference.
